Olympic gold medalist swimmer Wilkie passes away at the age of 70.

British Olympic swimming champion David Wilkie has passed away at the age of 70 after battling cancer. Wilkie, born in Sri Lanka to Scottish parents, achieved great success in swimming, winning gold in the 200m breaststroke at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, along with two Olympic silver medals and three world titles. He retired at the age of 22 after an impressive career that included breaking world records and being recognized with awards such as an MBE and British Sports Personality of the Year in 1975.
