Oman's future liquefied natural gas (LNG) production facility depends on attracting investments from major energy companies like BP, Shell, and TotalEnergies. With the government looking to secure gas supplies without state funding, discussions will begin in early 2025. Energy Minister Salim Al-Aufi indicated that if sufficient gas suppliers do not participate, the project may be canceled. The new facility aims to boost Oman's LNG production capacity significantly, but only gas producers can take part in the investment talks.
