A car accident in Kaohsiung's Sanmin District in the early morning caused by a driver falling asleep resulted in a row of cars and motorcycles being hit, as well as a transformer being knocked down, leading to a power outage for 826 households. Business establishments were unable to operate temporarily, residents suffered from the hot weather without air conditioning or fans. Fortunately, Taiwan Power Company quickly restored power to over 90% of the affected households within an hour, with the remaining 32 households regaining power by after 9 a.m.
