Parliamentary Reform Bill Reviewed Nationwide by Blue and Green Parties, Taipei Forum Held, Mayor Ko Calls for TV Debate

Reported about 1 year ago

The Parliamentary Reform Bill has passed the third reading with the cooperation of the Kuomintang and the People's Party, but the Executive Yuan deems it impractical, leading to a review which President Lai Ching-te approves. Both the blue and green parties have initiated nationwide explanations, with strong focus on the People's Party's stance. Party Chairman Ko Wen-je has challenged for a television debate involving three parties or opposing sides. The blue and green parties are both engaging in nationwide explanations of the Parliamentary Reform Bill review. Ko Wen-je, the People's Party Chairman, also attended a party caucus meeting and stressed the need for a TV debate, criticizing the inefficiency of traditional regional briefings and calling for direct debates to save time and resources.
