In the vicinity of the San-Ying Interchange at 51 kilometers northbound on National Freeway No. 3, a pedestrian mistakenly entered the freeway from the exit ramp and was walking on the inner lane late last night around 11 pm. The pedestrian was hit by multiple vehicles in succession and died on the spot. The police are still investigating the identity of the deceased and the detailed cause of the accident. The accident caused lane closures until early this morning at 2:26 a.m., and investigations into the pedestrian's identity, the reason for entering the freeway, and checking the relevant vehicles involved will continue to clarify the cause.
