On the morning of June 19, 2024, Sun Anzi and his agent with the surname Zhu brought a gas pistol to the Xinyi District in Taipei, sparking controversy. The senior artist Sun Peng's residence was searched by Taipei City police and judicial personnel, where some gunpowder and a dagger were seized, Sun Anzi was taken in for questioning, possibly related to the earlier incident of brandishing a gun in the Xinyi District. The Taipei District Prosecutors Office directed the Taipei City Criminal Investigation Division to investigate the case, and in the early hours of the 19th, conducted searches at Sun's and Zhu's residence, seizing some gunpowder and taking Sun Anzi and the agent Zhu in for questioning, investigating them for violations of the Firearms and Ammunition Control Act. It is understood that the gas gun was not found at the scene. Sun Anzi is suspected to have rented a studio in Taipei, but this location was not within the target range of today's search by the authorities. The police may launch a second wave of search operations once it is clarified whether Sun Anzi has other residences.
