In an exclusive report on July 2, 2024, at 10:28 PM, police from the second division of the Nanmen Police Station in Chiayi received a report from a post office employee about a man suspected of being scammed into making an abnormal overseas remittance. The police intervened and prevented the man, surnamed Huang, from transferring NT$65,000 to a specified account to receive a package from an online foreign acquaintance claiming to be his future wife. The police helped Huang realize it was a love scam, urging the public to stay vigilant against such schemes and report any suspicious requests for money transfers for crime prevention and financial safety.
