A China Airlines flight attendant named Zhang, who wanted to transfer to ground staff due to pregnancy but was asked to stay on unpaid leave due to no vacancies, successfully recovered 450,000 in unpaid salaries by submitting a 'however document.' She had been with the company since 1998 and after completing the unpaid leave, only received an administrative position upon return. Dissatisfied with not receiving full salary, she sued the airline for shortfall salaries and non-property losses, resulting in a court judgment for China Airlines to pay her over 450,000. The court found that the leave conditions were agreed upon and that the airline should pay her the basic salary plus a bonus for the 18 months of leave until her return to work.
