This week, the Legislative Yuan will convene a full committee meeting to review amendments to certain articles of the Legislative Yuan's Exercise of Powers Act and to the Criminal Code, with a vote expected to be held on the 21st. Following the political battles of this session, Premier Su Tseng-chang plans to establish an 'Economic Development Committee' in August to propose comprehensive policies on wages, income distribution, and finance to boost the economy. The committee plans to gather economic opinion leaders to assist in economic development efforts alongside major national policies like the Forward-looking Infrastructure Development Program. The government also aims to enhance investigation tools to combat fraud effectively and balance protection of human rights in future cross-party negotiations.
