President Lai Qingde attended his first military graduation ceremony at the National Defense University after taking office, expressing support for defense reform and urging against formalism. Unlike his previous speech where he emphasized the notion that Taiwan and China do not belong to one another, this time, President Lai did not even mention the Republic of China. Lai encouraged the graduating students with gestures of love, bowed to the founder of the nation, and stressed the importance of defending democracy.
