President Lai Ching-te Signs Parliament Reform Bill and Files for Constitutional Interpretation, Control Yuan to Hold Press Conference on 25th to Halt Implementation

President Lai Ching-te held a press conference today to announce the intention to file for constitutional interpretation and temporary disposition after the Executive Yuan's proposal for revising parliamentary powers was rejected. The Control Yuan also stated that they will hold a press conference tomorrow to declare the filing for constitutional interpretation and temporary disposition. President Lai has already signed the bills for the Legislative Yuan's exercise of powers and amendments to the Republic of China Criminal Code, with the Control Yuan following up to defend its supervisory powers as the government seeks to prevent the expansion of parliamentary powers and uphold the separation of powers.
