During an interview at the 'Taiwan Grand Future International Summit' organized by InStyle magazine, Tang Yixian, the chairman of Wistron Corporation, advocated for a 30% green energy, 30% nuclear power, and 40% thermal power generation mix in Taiwan's energy policy. Despite being the vice convener of the Presidential Office's Climate Change Commission, Tang's pro-nuclear stance continues to draw attention and discussion, with his recent warning that the 'Non-Nuclear Homeland' slogan may cause Taiwan's decline. The Presidential spokesperson clarified that President Lai Ching-te has not instructed Tang on nuclear energy matters, urging against overinterpretation of Tang's statements. Tang emphasized the importance of a balanced energy policy to ensure Taiwan's carbon reduction and power sufficiency, highlighting the risks of solely relying on non-nuclear energy sources. He reiterated his support for a 30% nuclear, 30% green, and 40% thermal energy mix, emphasizing the need for stable power supply to sustain Taiwan's technological advantages.
