Preventing Landlords from Overcharging Electricity Fees New Regulations by Ministry of the Interior Effective on 7/15

Reported about 1 year ago

In order to prevent some landlords from overcharging electricity fees, the Ministry of the Interior has introduced a new standard lease contract template, which will officially take effect on 7/15. In the future, landlords can only charge tenants based on the actual Taiwan Power Company bill they receive. However, there is concern that landlords who have not reported their rental properties may not comply with the new regulations. In response, the Ministry of the Interior stated that tenants can file complaints with their respective county or city governments.
