Protecting the Financial Interests of the Elderly: Taipei Police Collaborate with Social Affairs Bureau for Anti-Fraud Awareness

On June 12, 2024, in Taipei, the Taipei Police Department's Security Police Battalion teamed up with the Taipei City Government's Social Affairs Bureau to conduct an anti-fraud campaign targeting the elderly. According to statistics from the Ministry of the Interior's Police Administration, 47% of fraud cases involving individuals aged 65 and above in 112 involved investment scams. The efforts included educating seniors on common fraudulent investment schemes during a community event to increase their awareness and prevent them from falling victim to scams.
