During her speech after winning the Best Taiwanese Album Award at the 2024 Golden Melody Awards, Bai Nai not only mentioned Tiananmen Square but also talked about protesting for seven years at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and the 228 Memorial Park. In an interview before the awards, Bai Nai discussed her book 'Bai Nai Comes Home,' reflecting on the seven years she spent living in the park and the linguistic struggles faced as an indigenous person who considers Taiwanese her mother tongue. Bai Nai revealed that she moved out of the 'home' she lived in for over seven years at the 228 Memorial Park in May, explaining her dedication to reminding President Tsai Ing-wen of her promises to indigenous communities regarding autonomy and land rights. Despite facing multiple eviction attempts and hardships, Bai Nai expressed that these seven years led her to find her way back home.
