Amid recent power outages in Ximending, Taipei, and Pingtung, there have been concerns about a possible electricity shortage crisis. Minister of Economic Affairs Guo Zhihui emphasized in an interview at the Legislative Yuan that 'Taiwan does not have a power shortage.' He announced that starting next month until the end of the year, data such as the capacity of electricity generation, daily maintenance-related reductions, and the amount of electricity supplied will be publicly announced monthly to reassure the public. Guo Zhihui stressed the abundance of electricity, mentioning the operation of power units and the contribution of solar and wind energy. He expressed concerns about the condition of old distribution wires and the ongoing efforts to identify and improve them.
