In 2024, Singapore's bunker hub achieved unprecedented marine fuel sales, reaching 54.92 million metric tons, surpassing the previous record of 51.82 million tons in 2023. This surge was attributed to increased container throughput and alternative fuel deliveries, amid changing refueling patterns due to shipping tensions. Notably, sales of high-sulphur marine fuel rose by 21%, while sales of low-sulphur fuel decreased by 4%. The emerging trend in alternative fuels was highlighted by a doubling in sales to 1.34 million tons, indicating a significant shift in the marine fuel market.
