Refusing Military Physical Exam, Young Man Faces Legal Action - Father Helplessly Attends Court in Place of Son

A 21-year-old man named Yang in Taoyuan, Taiwan, who dropped out of high school and stayed indoors for 3 years, refused to comply with the military conscription examination and was sentenced by the court for obstructing military service. Despite receiving notices, delivered and informed by his parents, Yang did not appear for the examination and was eventually sent to court. His father had to show up on his behalf, causing frustration within the family. The court found Yang guilty, sentencing him to 2 months in prison or a fine for evading the conscription process.
