According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, the New York Giants are anticipating tight end Darren Waller to retire by next week's mandatory minicamp. Waller, 31, who was traded to the Giants last year, has been considering retirement publicly during the offseason. The Giants have been making moves at the tight end position, including selecting Theo Johnson in the draft and giving him first-team snaps during Phase III, along with other players like Daniel Ballinger, Lawrence Cager, Tyree Jackson, Chris Manhertz, and Jack Stoll.
