In a residential area of Taipei on June 10, 2024, operators of claw machine stores are warned to be vigilant as the Taipei City Environmental Protection Bureau stated that playing music or sound effects after 10 PM that disturbs nearby residents will result in fines for violating the ban on behavior that hinders public safety. Fines range from a minimum of NT$6,000 to a maximum of NT$30,000. Claw machine stores, known for low entry barriers, have been expanding into residential alleys, operating around the clock, and playing loud noises and music, particularly disturbing residents at night. The Bureau received complaints about noise disturbances from claw machine stores, prompting stricter regulations, increased fines, and enforcement during nighttime hours to maintain the peace of residential areas.
