Residents in Binjiang Accuse City Government of 'Robbing and Demolishing Homes,' Huang Shanshan: Held Multiple Explanation Meetings, Budget Approved by Council

Reported 8 months ago

In order to build the Binjiang Water Resources Recycling Center, the Taipei City Government aggressively acquired land, leading to local residents forming a self-help group against it and accusing People's Party chairman and former Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je, as well as Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an, of being 'more despicable than a fraud syndicate.' Former Taipei Deputy Mayor and People's Party legislator Huang Shanshan stated that the acquisition and construction funds for Binjiang were approved during Mayor Ko Wen-je's term through council resolutions and had gone through local explanations, with no issues. Huang Shanshan emphasized that there were numerous explanation meetings with local representatives, and the council supported the budget when she was the liaison person in charge of budget communication.
