On June 15, 2024, 4171 households in Little Liuqiu, Pingtung, encountered a sudden island-wide power outage during dinnertime, leading residents in Shang Fu Village to use headlamps and manually fan themselves due to the lack of electric fans. Despite the inconvenience, a family gathering continued with a spread of delicious food including Emperor Crabs. Taiwan Power Company quickly resolved the issue and restored power by 8:46 pm. Residents made the most of the situation, sharing a dinner lit by headlamps and making the best out of the unexpected blackout.
