It has been nearly six years since the military and public servant pension reform, and recent analysis shows a significant decrease in retirement rates in recent years. The average retirement age has increased from 56.5 to 58.91, delaying retirement by 3 years following the reform. Despite concerns, many retirees suggest that the reform has not significantly impacted their retirement plans; rather, it is the desire to pursue personal interests as they age. While retirement rates have dropped post-reform, creating an appearance of an aging public sector workforce, there still remains a recruitment challenge due to workforce shortages.
