Robots Trending: Business Opportunities Abound in the Second Half of the Year

Reported about 1 year ago

In July 2024, Tesla introduced the humanoid robot Optimus, and China unveiled its first full-size general-purpose robot, sparking potential business opportunities in the robot industry. NVIDIA's robot ecosystem, including Taiwanese companies like Kuoming, Congtai, and Huiyou, is also forecasted to perform well in the latter half of the year. The strategy for NVIDIA's presence in the robot market involves investments in promising new companies like Figure AI and collaborations with Taiwanese firms to build robot and AI ecosystems focused on smart factories and edge computing development. Focusing on industrial robots presently, Taiwan's second-largest collaborative robot company, Kuoming Robot (a subsidiary of Kuoming), is closely working with NVIDIA to develop intelligent robot arm products using the NVIDIA Isaac Sim™ platform for training and employing robot simulation applications in factories. With revenue growth exceeding 50% year-on-year in April and May, Kuoming Robot anticipates a significantly better financial performance this year. The company plans for IPO preparation by approving additional equity issuance during the late June shareholder meeting. Additionally, the extension of edge AI computing from smart factories contributes to the overall ecosystem, where NVIDIA's Jetson serves as an embedded solution for autonomous robots. Around 13 Taiwanese companies, including industrial computer leaders like Lanner, Adlink, and Advantech, have joined this ecosystem. Moreover, companies like Huiyou and Congtai, known for their expertise in image recognition and analysis, have become NVIDIA Jetson platform partners based on their commendation from NVIDIA, experiencing significant stock price jumps recently. Huiyou's stock price surged by 60.14% last week, while Congtai's stock rose by over 20%.
