Russian Warships Conduct Live-Fire Exercises Near Cuba, Asserting Power Against U.S.

Reported 7 months ago

Ahead of the US-Russia peace summit, Russian warships equipped with hypersonic missiles sailed to Cuba and conducted live-fire exercises in the Atlantic, only 145 kilometers from the US, sending a clear message of intimidation. The advanced patrol ship 'Marshal Shaposhnikov' and nuclear-powered attack submarine 'Kazan' were among the vessels, with the former carrying the latest 'Zircon' hypersonic missiles, aiming to deter Washington. Despite not carrying nuclear weapons, Russia also held tactical nuclear exercises with Belarus as a show of force prior to the summit, indicating their willingness to use such weapons if necessary.
