On June 6, the Cuban government announced that Russia will send four warships including the patrol ship 'Admiral Gorshkov' and the nuclear-powered submarine 'Kazan' to visit Havana next week. It was emphasized that these ships are not equipped with nuclear weapons and will not pose a threat to regional stability. The visit is based on the historical friendly relations between the two countries. The U.S. believes that Russia's move is in response to its support for Ukraine. Although Washington does not see the presence of a small number of Russian ships in the Caribbean as a major threat to national security, the U.S. military will closely monitor their activities.
