In an exclusive report on June 13, 2024, at 11:22 PM, the Tamshui River Protection Crab Path was established to aid land crabs in returning safely home during their breeding season. The New Taipei City Government's High Beach Engineering Management Office, along with the Wild at Heart Association, worked together to prevent crabs from crossing roads directly. The initiative resulted in a decreased roadkill rate and observed crabs utilizing the path. The protection measures include canvas guides leading crabs safely back to the sea for spawning.
