Samsung Facing Bottleneck: 3nm Yield Rate Below 20%; TSMC May Benefit if Galaxy S25 Switches to Qualcomm

Reported 8 months ago

According to FTNN News on June 23, 2024, Samsung Electronics' latest Exynos 2500 processor has a yield rate below 20%, despite improvements from single digits in the first quarter. Efforts are being made to increase it, but its use in the Galaxy S25 series is uncertain. If Samsung fails to raise the yield rate, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, using TSMC's 3nm process, could secure Galaxy S25 orders, potentially benefiting TSMC while Samsung faces challenges with its processors.
