Reported 6 months ago

Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund's entity, SURJ Sports Investment, is identified as the preferred bidder to host a new professional men's tennis tournament, potentially an ATP Masters 1000 event. Although the venue and commercial terms are yet to be finalized, discussions are ongoing for a possible event in January or February, marking the country's further engagement in tennis, following its recent sponsorship deals with ATP and WTA. Saudi Arabia has also shown interest in taking over the Miami and Madrid Masters 1000 events owned by IMG. The PIF-established SURJ aims to boost the sports sector in the Middle East and North Africa.
