In June 2024, a scam group took advantage of the high demand for tickets to Andy Lau's concert by posting ticket sales on a Facebook group, deceiving victims into believing they were purchasing legitimate tickets through the concert's official website. Victims ended up transferring amounts ranging from 1800 to 80,000 RMB, totaling over 300,000 RMB scammed. Law enforcement arrested a 41-year-old suspect in New Taipei City for fraud, seizing evidence and identifying over 20 victims, mostly young women, with each having lost different amounts of money. The police warn the public to be cautious when purchasing event tickets and to choose official websites or legitimate ticket platforms over scalpers.
