On June 24, 2024, at 1:22 a.m., a man in black was subdued and handcuffed by the police for allegedly recruiting members with free tattoos, establishing a criminal organization, and posting high-paying job ads on Facebook to target young individuals. The group deceived victims by offering to work in Thailand under the guise of free meals, accommodation, and airfare, but in reality, they were sent to Cambodia for illegal gambling activities. The group even demanded ransom from victims' families before allowing them to leave. When one victim returned to Taiwan, they immediately reported the incident to the police, leading to the arrest of eight suspects involved in crimes such as human trafficking and organized crime. Police urge the public to be cautious of lucrative job offers and high-profit investments to avoid falling victim to scams.
