This appeal will review a July 2023 decision regarding the XRP token from Ripple Labs, which was deemed not to be a security in a ruling that could restrict the SEC's regulatory power over other cryptocurrency exchanges such as Coinbase. Ripple's CEO criticized the SEC’s appeal as misguided, but emphasized that XRP currently holds non-security status.
