A serious fire broke out on Friday evening in the tourist destination of Yokohama, Japan, at the famous 'Yokohama Chinatown', burning for 2.5 hours and consuming 14 residential buildings. The fire, originating in a densely populated residential area within the Chinatown alleys, caused thick smoke to affect areas up to 500 meters away, including the Yokohama baseball stadium hosting a Japanese baseball exchange game. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. Extensive firefighting efforts were made with over 60 fire trucks and helicopters deployed, with the cause of the fire still under investigation.
