Production designer Helen Jarvis, working on the series 'Shōgun,' discussed her experience of delving into a new culture she was unfamiliar with, having not read the book the series is based on or traveled to Japan where the story is set. This was highlighted in a webchat hosted by Gold Derby editor Ray Richmond as part of the 'Meet the Experts' panel for production designers.
