Yahoo reports that the shortage of IV fluids in Taiwan is expected until October, but the Department of Health plans to increase domestic production and import from abroad to alleviate the issue. Due to the majority offering 500cc small packages causing distress in the medical field, hospitals have temporarily halted surgeries requiring large amounts of IV fluids. The Department of Health assures stable supply and aims to restore 1000cc large packages by the end of July. The shortage is attributed to a major producer's compliance issues, leading to estimates of a shortfall of 1.5 million bottles/bags per month. Efforts are being made to boost local production and ensure uninterrupted access to vital medical supplies.
