South Korea Resumes Naval Artillery Training

Reported 9 months ago

In response to recent provocations from North Korea, South Korea's Marine Corps resumed naval artillery training near the Northern Limit Line and islands in the northwest after nearly 7 years, marking the first similar training since formally suspending the Comprehensive Military Agreement earlier this month. Utilizing weapons like the K9 'Thunder' self-propelled howitzers and K239 multiple rocket launch systems, they fired over 290 rounds towards the open sea, describing it as part of routine defense exercises. Amid escalating provocations from North Korea, including floating garbage balloons, GPS interference, and missile tests, South Korea is strengthening its deterrent measures through various drills.
