During Russian President Putin's two-day visit in Asia, South Korea strongly condemned the signing of a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between North Korea and Russia, and vowed to reconsider providing weapons to Ukraine. Additionally, following Putin's visit to Vietnam, the US promptly sent senior diplomats to the country. South Korea provided non-lethal aid including mine-clearing equipment to Ukraine but has rejected Kyiv's requests for weapons assistance so far. South Korea warned that the extent of military aid to Ukraine will depend on Russia's future actions, as Washington announced Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Kang's visit to Vietnam to emphasize cooperation and support for a 'free and open Indo-Pacific region.'
