South Korean Government Responds to Putin's Warning about Military Aid to Ukraine

Reported 10 months ago

During his recent visit to North Korea, Russian President Putin signed a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, causing South Korea to condemn the agreement and express a possible reevaluation of their military aid policy towards Ukraine. Putin warned that providing military aid to Ukraine would be a grave mistake, to which South Korea responded by stating that the level of support to Ukraine will depend on Russia's stance. South Korea's National Security Office chief condemned the treaty between North Korea and Russia, stating that South Korea will reconsider their military aid policy towards Ukraine. This situation arises as South Korea has refrained from providing military aid to Ukraine, which Russia views as a red line in their relationship.
