A Taiwanese netizen's question on the use of squid's transparent sheet led to a surprising discovery that the sheet is actually the squid's bone. A team from the Materials Department at Tsinghua University developed two new composite piezoelectric materials using these waste squid bones, with the bone being able to make transparent film for applications like cellphone screens and elevator switches, possessing antibacterial properties. The research has been published in an international journal, showcasing the innovative use of squid bones.
