Sri Lanka's parliament approved amendments to a decades-old law to allow Elon Musk's Starlink, the satellite unit of SpaceX, to operate in the country's telecoms market. The amendments introduced new licenses, enabling Starlink to provide services pending approval from the telecoms regulator. The move aims to attract international companies to improve internet access, particularly in rural areas, as part of Sri Lanka's plan to grow the IT sector into a $15 billion industry by 2030.
