Storm Yagi has resulted in the deaths of at least 15 people in the Philippines, prompting thousands to evacuate as it strengthens on its way to China. The storm transitioned into a severe tropical storm with winds reaching 85 kilometers per hour, forecasted to become a typhoon. Most fatalities occurred due to non-stop rains causing flash floods and landslides, particularly in Rizal province and the Bicol region. As it approaches southern China, warnings have been issued for intensified winds, while the Philippines continues to face heavy rainfall from the southwest monsoon.
