Study: Support Can Help Nearly Half of Long-Term Antidepressant Users Quit

Reported 11 months ago

A recent study led by universities of Southampton, Liverpool, and Hull York Medical School revealed that over 40% of long-term antidepressant users managed to stop using the medication with support from their doctors and access to online or telephone helplines. Patients who had online support and psychologist consultations reported lower rates of depression, fewer withdrawal symptoms, and improved mental wellbeing. The findings suggest that with proper support, many individuals can successfully come off antidepressants without the need for intense therapy sessions.
