During the 7th National Patriotic Drill Team Finals of the Ministry of National Defense, Minister Chiu Kuo-cheng stated that the budget for the construction of 7 subsequent indigenous submarines has been approved from 2025, with a total of over 284 billion yuan allocated over a 15-year period in a '3+2+2' model. The Ministry of National Defense has planned the submarines comprehensively, and expenditure will only be made after the prototype submarine has passed sea trials. Development will be conducted in three stages, with the Navy coordinating and executing the project, including contracting for the construction of the submarine hulls and bidding for combat system equipment.
