As summer arrives and temperatures soar, there has been a surge in both COVID-19 and flu cases, leading to crowded clinics with people waiting for medical attention. Pediatrician Chen Jing-lun expressed on Facebook that despite the scorching heat, the number of people falling ill with cold-like symptoms is as high as during winter. Ear, nose, and throat specialist Zhang Hong also shared that they have seen an increase in fever and positive flu cases, advising early medical consultation and the use of flu medication when necessary. Health authorities recommend using home rapid COVID-19 test kits if experiencing symptoms before seeking medical help.
