As the summer vacation approaches, hotel bookings in Taichung's Lishan area have dropped to only 30%, attributing the decline to misconceptions arising from the Hualien earthquake that led to the belief that access to Lishan was restricted. To boost tourism, the Sheipa National Scenic Area Administration is offering a 1 million yuan reward to encourage group travelers to stay in the Lishan area for 3 days and 2 nights, with subsidies of up to 10,000 yuan per group. The initiative aims to combat the operational challenges faced by Lishan hotels after the earthquake, promoting tourism in the region.
