Swiss government announced that 90 countries or organizations will participate in the Ukraine Peace Summit happening this weekend, with notable absences including Russia who was not invited, China declining to attend, Saudi Arabia also not participating, and the UN Secretary-General Guterres refusing to attend. The summit, set to take place on June 15th to 16th near Lucerne in Switzerland, is expected to have around half of the attending countries and organizations from South America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, showing a diverse representation beyond just Western nations in support of Ukraine. Swiss President Viola Amherd mentioned facing cyber threats in recent weeks due to hosting the summit, revealing attacks from Russia despite not directly naming them. Both Russia and China decided not to attend, with China aligning with Russia's stance that the summit is a 'waste of time'.
