On June 14, 2024, under the influence of southwest winds, there are intermittent brief showers or thunderstorms from Miaoli to the south. While the rain has eased compared to yesterday, Taipei recorded 35 degrees and Taitung hit 38.9 degrees. Meteorological experts warn that temperatures will rise further as the winds shift gradually to the south. Today, there is a chance of isolated brief showers in the early morning to mid-morning in Hsinchu and Yilan, while the afternoon will bring localized thunderstorms to Taipei and other mountainous areas. With temperatures ranging from 32 to 35 degrees, some areas may experience temperatures over 36 degrees, especially in eastern and northern parts due to southwest winds. The Central Weather Bureau forecasts a shift to southern winds on Sunday, decreasing rainfall in central and southern Taiwan but increasing chances of thunderstorms in the afternoon, particularly in Taipei and the northeast. Monday and Tuesday will see mostly cloudy to clear skies, with isolated brief showers in the morning and localized thunderstorms in the afternoon. Air quality remains good in most areas, with some regions experiencing haze affecting visibility. Source: Central Weather Bureau and Ministry of the Environment.
