A recent revelation by Taipei City Councilor Li Ming-hsien of the Kuomintang party stated that Democratic Progressive Party legislator Huang Kuo-chang of the People First Party had asked whether the Kuomintang party would consider yielding, however, Huang clarified that his question was whether the Kuomintang party would accept a result that went against public opinion polls. This led to criticism from Kuomintang councilor Liu Tsai-wei, with Huang responding that the focus should be on cooperation regardless of political affiliation. Huang has been actively working on local services in New Taipei City and emphasized the importance of bipartisan collaboration for the benefit of the majority of citizens.
