During a resurgence of COVID-19 on June 27, 2024, Kuomintang Taipei City Councilor Liu Tsai-Wei announced on Facebook that she had tested positive for the virus for the first time despite boasting to be the chosen one for years. Liu stated she would self-manage her health and unable to attend an event that evening, urging friends to visit her office if needed. She warned about the severity of the virus, describing the coughing sensation as if her lungs were about to come out, and encouraged self-isolation for symptomatic individuals, wearing masks, and seeking medical help promptly if needed.
