In a recent testing by Taipei City's Health Bureau on fresh produce for pesticide residue, 12 out of 52 items were found to violate standards, with items like basil from Xinye Vegetables in Taipei 101, radishes from Breeze Supermarket, and others failing. Offenders face fines ranging from NT$60,000 to NT$200 million for exceeding safe pesticide levels. Health authorities stress the importance of monitoring from the farm to ensure compliance and suggest buyers demand complete transaction records and photograph source information for traceability and source management.
